It was during this era that the industrial revolution flowered in America. As a result, per capita income and wealth soared and life was revolutionized. For the first time in history technological advance [Eli Whitney] played a major role in economic growth and development. Couldn't we enslave a captive nation somewhere? Just curious . . .
